Well this morning I was relocated and have now officially joined my new team.  Apparently there were a few weird looks on faces earlier when people saw I wasn't in my usual spot....ha ha!

Since I took over this role at the beginning of November, I have been very busy, from one end of the spectrum to the other you might say.

This is a different part of the business entirely, so new duties, new faces, and a period of adjustment whilst I learn all the new things I don't yet know.

Just wish I had time to breathe!  Cheesy

Gee I am so happy for you. Hopefully this new position/boss will be better suited to you and the office space will have been designed as an office space for actual people! Good luck.

Thanks all.  You would not believe how this move has made me feel.

I'm now in a carpeted office with around 12-15 others who travel frequently, so we're not all in the office at the same time.  No aircon issues to speak of, in fact it's cosy and warm.  Kettle, toaster and small fridge nearby along with vending machine etc.  Oh my gosh and some greenery too!  Cheesy

I'm so busy the days are flying by and I no longer have time to be bored.

Long may it continue!

Gee, right on!

I hope it all works out for you and if you need any encouragement, you know we're all here for you! I know, you probably haven't even heard of me or read any of my posts on here, but.....I know what it's like to 'transition' too.

Actually, my site may very well help you out, if you haven't seen any of my posts here. (Site removed by msmarieh, moderator, per terms of service. If anyone wishes to visit it, they can pm her for the address.)

Take it easy, and 'remember to breathe'! LOL!! You are likely learning alot more than you realize!

Best!

Trish

Good luck, Gee.  You're still in the same company, but a different team with different dynamics sounds promising.  And so does the carpeting, fridge and greenery.  Facilities like that are basic and simple, but really make a difference to your well-being and, ultimately, to your effectiveness.

Somehow I missed this in the chaotic madness of last term and pre-Christmas!!  Gee - I am so pleased that you're pleased - it sounds great.  And I loved your comment about carpets and gosh greenery!!  Grin  It's funny how good even the most basic things can make us feel.

I hope things are still going well - have a great 2010 - and that goes for and to all of us!

Only day 4 of being back to work in 2010 and I've been so busy.  You would think no one would be travelling with the weather but some reservations etc were booked before Christmas.  It's been trial and error regarding cancelled and rescheduled flights.

I've also been organising a big meeting in London for my boss next week, liaising with various programme managers regarding travel, accommodation, meeting facilities etc - something I love doing and haven't done for a while.  I think this is one of those occasions when you (or should I say I), have a chance to shine and show how efficient I can be.  I have noticed some individuals are now a bit more relaxed as they get to know me better.

We are due to move to our newly refurbished office space in a couple of weeks when the whole team will be together.  This will be our final move and where I can further establish myself as part of the team.
