How long have you been in the position you are in now and how did you find it? Where you promoted from within the company? Maybe you found your job by networking or did you go through a recruiter, an agency, a job posting in the paper or on an online published listing? (if so which site did you use?)

I have been in my current position for 4½ months.
I found my role through an online advertisement from a recruitment agency.
I was not promoted from within the company. However, I have managed to get my job title revised (to the better I think) after having passed my 3 months probationary period.

Good for you. That's practically unheard of...well in my case anyway.
Employers don't tend to revise job titles, unless someone's role has changed completely or they report into someone higher up the food chain. HR have dumped this task on my new boss. Will be interesting to see what he comes up with, if anything.

I have been here 4 years.
I found the job through an online ad and came in from outside the company.

How long have I been at my current company 4 years How did I find my position: After being laid off in May, I found and accepted a position starting in July for a factoring company. I had interviewed for another position in my current company in May. The president's eaa remembered me and when my current position became available recommended me (I had never met her before). I interviewed for my current position and went through agony trying to decide between the two jobs. Only two months in the first position, I felt like a rat quitting. My husband finally asked me if the two jobs were open and I didn't have either which would I want. So here I am four years later using my paralegal skills as legal assistant.

Through a ad in a local newspaper. Been with the company 28 years this November! Started off as receptionist, went through all departments ... accounts, production, legal and now am PA to the General Manager. If I ever end up having to look for another job, my CV will certainly look wierd .... my first and only job!

Mine was a lead from a relative. However, I applied under my maiden name and had to go through the same application and interview process as anyone else. I've been with the overall organization for 12 years now, in this particular division for 3.

I replied to a job ad in a local newspaper but was initially unsuccessful after interview. However, I was later called back as it did not work out with the first person appointed to the post.
Seventeen years later, I am still here but not for much longer.
Over the years, I have taken on several roles but was never promoted. That coupled with our office relocation, I have accepted a redundancy package and I finish up next Friday.
Who know’s what’s in store next but I’m ready for the challenge and the change.

How long have you been in the position you are in now? Almost 4 years in the current role, 7 years with my boss, 15 years with the company
How did you find it? Dropped off a dozen applications to various places and this is where I got a call back... when I was a junior in high school. The supervisor had previously worked with my dad so he recognized my name.
Were you promoted from within the company? Yes
