Subject: Human Resources
Dear Hiring Manager,
Thank you for your letter of March 16. After careful consideration, I regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer me a position in your department at this time. This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually large number of rejection letters.
With such a varied and promising field of candidates, it is impossible for me to accept all refusals.
Despite your companies' outstanding qualifications and previous experience in rejecting applicants, I find that your rejection does not meet my needs at this time. Therefore, I will assume the position in your department this August. I look forward to seeing you then. Best of luck in rejecting future applicants.
Sincerely,
Interviewee

The really scary thing is that in 9 minutes I have a meeting with the VP of HR regarding my move the that department. Nothing is carved in stone yet (or for that matter - written on paper) can they take their offer back?
Trying not to get caught in the fact/meaning thing!

Thanks for your good wishes. They didn't take their offer back since they claim they never made the offer in the first place. (Damn, wish I wore a wire to the first meeting!)
Well, got my resume in for the position anyway and will just have to wait for nature/HR to take its course.
