Ah, yes. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who gets that "Good Old Days" feeling when I think of the '80s.

I had the big teased hair style. I wore the plastic bracelets up the arm, the jelly shoes, the tight jeans (had to lay down on the bed to get them on), the shoulder pads, the blazers with T-shirts and jeans, the Madonna hair tie. I still have my Rubic's cube.

Until recently, when I watched the VH1 Behind the Music on Cindy Lauper, I didn't know that "She Bop" was about self pleasuring (to put it nicely). I hope my mom didn't know what it was about because I used to play that song all the time!

All I want back is Miami Vice!  Don Johnson still looks good to me!!  Those Phil Collins' songs always bring back memories.....  Remember that song, Electric Blue?  I can't remember who sang it, but I loved that song!

"Psu, Psu, Psudeo!"

BTW, Phil Collins made that word up. It's not an actual word. He just thought it sounded good. And it did sound cool. It used to drive me nuts that I did not know what that word meant. Now I'm relieved to know that I didn't have to know because it doesn't exist. He made the whole thing up. Now that's talent!

"Electric Blue" is by Ice House (Australian) and the lead singer was Iva Davies.  I LOVED that song.  And, tada!  I still, on my left arm, am wearing the FIRST black rubber gasket that I used as a bracelet, when I was 13 years old.  This is 15 years old, as it is, and has NEVER come off my arm, not once since I put it on!  I'm rather proud of that.  As for those song, I must have either replaced my 7" singles (does anyone remember Tote 45?) with either CD's or mp3s from Napster and I have almost ALL of those songs in my possession!

officedutches,

I'll have to agree with you on Don Johnson, I think he looks much better now than he did younger, just me.

Yank,

I remember those 45's I still have a bunch of those at home at my parents house.  Do they still make turntables to play them on?

Good thing I have lots of tapes.

When you mentioned Electric Blue, I automatically thought of the Debbie Gibson song by the same name - I'm a pop-chic when it comes to 80s music.  Then of course, I turned to the hair bands - gimme Poison, Warrant, Damn Yankees, Slaughter, Europe, Def Leppard, Firehouse, and all the rest before any other 80s music these days.

If you ever watched the "She-Bop" video, you would have known...

Still have all my old tapes in the basement.  The other day my son was listening to Huey Lewis and the News - "It's Hip to Be Square".  BTW Sesame Street uses that song for a lesson on shapes!

Officeduchess - You're a woman after my own heart!  I still love Don Johnson too - watch Miami Vice re-runs on TNN all the time (and occasionally Dukes of Hazzard re-runs too!)

Oh my gawd, the 80's!

I remember Michael Jackson's "Thriller..." & "Billie Jean" and the Moonwalk of course.

Whip It!

Adam Ant (who my locker partner worshiped)

Big hair and hair mousse-hoo boy! Some girls had bangs like the Tower of Babylon

Legwarmers AND footie sox with pom-poms

Everyone singing "We Are The World" (what was that--LiveAid I think?)

What fun!

Oh yeah, I remember the gold mousse - I used to get the reddish stuff, turn my hair burgundy and go with it.  Looked great until I realized that it left marks on my shoulders when it was still wet!

Remember red and blue colored gel?  To make the little streaks when you gelled you hair all up, stiff-like?  OMG, Stiff Stuff, Hard Hair!  Anyone remember those?  Yes, you can buy separate tuntables, in PC Richard and stores like that.  Um...Debbie Gibson was "Out of the Blue", actually (Napster!).  There's a "Hip to be Square" Barbie with a geometric print dress (I just about peed laughing).  "We are the World" was USA for Africa, Live Aid was the big concert the Sir (Saint) Bob Geldoff organized, about 6 months after the release of Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?"  BTW, the only American band invited to Band Aid (England) was Kool and the Gang (OMG, Celebrate?)

I just scared the bejesus out of myself with the twisted knowledge that I have stored in there from the 80s.  And you know what?  I'm glad they're coming back!

How about spiral perms??  I didn't think I would ever live through the process....

I had to go out last night and buy me a 80's cd, I got so nostalgic.  I scraped up my Bruce Springsteen tape, "Born in the USA" last night, too.  My 3 year old love it!

Ah, memories!
