Yankee, I'd like to play a round of 80's edition Trivial Pursuit with you. I have so much useless knowledge stored in my brain but I think you'd win the prize! (I always get killed in the sports category but the other day my boss was referencing Zola Budd in a conversation. I remembered that she ran in the 1984 Olympics and not 1980 since the US boycotted the 1980 Olympics and she and the US runner crashed)

Yank, the song I was thinking of was Electric Youth.
When you guys get together for the 80's trivia, count me in! Let's get in on a chat room and play some night - I love that stuff!

Well, we've got the standard "oldies" radio station in town (50's and 60's), then there's the "all 70's" station, and now we've recently gotten an "all 80's" station. And then it hit me...
My God, I'm old enough to have my own "nostalgia/generation specific" station.

I'm with you DidFace. The radio station that I listen to has Saturday Night 70s music and Sunday Night 80s music. Am I really that old???
The other day, one of the announcers was reading a newspaper article which was saying that all those 80s fashions would be coming back. Where did I hide my shoulder pads? Where can I find my husband a skinny leather tie?

I'll split the difference here .......... HHS Class of 88
There is nothing worse then singing along with the radio and having the announcer interupt with a station identification .......... for an OLDIES station.
Wait ... yes there is ..... when the "hard rock" station now plays "classic rock" ..... and it's the same songs!!

I was unwillingly listening to N'Sync the other day and caught myself sounding exactly like my mom used to when I played my '80s music growing up.
"They just don't make good songs anymore. When I was your age (speaking to my niece), there were great songs!"
You know you're getting older when you start to sound like your mother! EEK!
But it's so true though. The stuff that's popular now is crap. Nothing compared to what I listened to growing up in the '80s.

Forgot about the Eurythmics and Split Enz (How could I?!)
And the movie Gallipoli - The first time I saw Mel Gibson and totally fell for him. It's those blue eyes!

Debbie had both "Out of the Blue" and "Electric Youth" and I had the Electric Youth perfume! THe other day I heard
"Borderline" by Madonna on, get this, the "Jammin' Oldies" station! Madonna is officially an oldie. I'm almost nauseous. Then again, I realized that I was old the day I heard Billy Joel on the radio and turned the volume up to 11 (remember "This is Spinal Tap"?) and I looked to see it was the light station! Yes, I'm the youngest fogey out there.
