Any of your NYC admins know how I can get Fannie Mae chocolates delivered to an address in Manhattan tomorrow or Friday?
Information on their website says that their normal "leave the warehouse date" is one day after the order; however, in the summer they will not ship on Thursdays or Fridays. That means the 1st possible ship date would be Monday, Aug 4th.
Any ideas on a way to get chocolates delivered this week? If it's not possible we'll just wait for the 8/4 ship date, but it would make me look good in bossie's eyes if I could pull off a miracle.

Okay, if price is not the issue, head for your nearest Fannie May, pick up the chochies and slap them into FedEX First, which I KNOW delivers in manhattan. Cheap? Nope. WIll it get there? Yep. Will you get to leave the office early to go get the chocolates? Yep. If there IS no Fannie Mae store near you, find the closest one, have them fedex for you, Better still Manhattan is FULL of courier companies, for a fee, you can hire one, SEND them to fannie mae, have them pick up the boiix in question and THEN deliver it. Uhhhhh if you decide you want to have some delivered to London, Im kinda partial to their truffles. Andrea

I also thought of the courier and FedEx First angles and I've been trying those options all morning. No Fannie Mae store near me (and I'm really bummed because I had visions of getting to leave early and indulging myself with something in the very high calorie range). Struck out in NYC also --- one place I called told me in a very SUPERIOR voice that Fannie Mae is only popular in places like Chicago (implying that Chicago is inferior) -- I'll give his name to any of you Chi-town admins who want to beat him up.
Anyhow, now I have my sister in Phila working on it. If she can get her hands on the candy -- and manage not to eat it -- we'll fedex from Phila to Manhattan.
Oops - that was my sister on the phone - can't do it via the Phila connection either because the specific kind of Fannie Mae chocolates we need are on backorder and will not be delivered to the Phila stores until Friday.
Seems like I've spent a lot of time finding out that I am just going to order from the website and have the candy shipped from Chicago on Monday. At least the quest was fun; I love a challenge.

Marie,
They're called "Pixies." I've never had them but I'm told that they are similar to turtles but "a million times better." Bossie is not a chocolate fan but he says he can eat a whole box of these.
Have you had them?

Ok.
There's a courier service at:
Tower Messenger Center 233 S. Wacker Drive Chicago, IL 60606 (312) 474-0090
Fed-Ex is also in the same bldg. as the courier. Perfect!
They can pick up the Pixies at: (well, they can actually walk. It's only 3 minutes away.) Fannie Mae 302 W. Adams St. Chicago, IL 60606 (312) 263-1087
Hope this helps!

Inperspective,
Thanks, but I've placed the order through the Fannie Mae website. There wouldn't have ever been any problem at all except for the summer delivery restrictions.
