 ... well, no-one else will!

Last year at this time - and earlier in the year - I was not a happy bunny as new Bossie seemed to "have it in for me".  New Bossie left mid-May last year and I was confronted with yet another new Bossie to play with.  She was the third in the space of seven months.

I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone here at DD who gave me such good advice last year and put up with my ramblings and ventings when I had such a hard time.

Today I had my first full year's appraisal with this Bossie and passed with flying colours, so to speak.  I took on extra responsibilities in the past year, taking charge of four major projects, and worked really hard.  It was truly worth sticking it out.

Trumpet-blowing session over ...

Best wishes,

Raindance

Congrats!!!  So great to hear that things have improved for you like that.  Now, did new bossie think of recognizing you with a monetary reward for all the additional items you took on?  That would just be the icing on the cake, in my opinion.

Way to stick it out!  Hope the rest of the week goes as good for you, if not better!

Many thanks for all your good wishes.

Countrigal, I've already been upgraded - our pay and upgrades are not tied to our appraisals at the moment.  Two of the new projects I am taking care of (well, "old" projects by now) leave me very exposed - if I get things wrong my company could be liable for a considerable sum of money.  I had to do a pilot project for three months, with close supervision, and produced a report at the end of it which was assessed by four senior people.  Mildly scary stuff for someone who had been used to being given regular admin  tasks to do.  I didn't ask for a raise until the end of the project as I thought I would stand a better chance if I proved I could do the job properly.  I'm very pleased that I appear to have the confidence of my employers and their recognition.

:::::applause:::::  Way to go Raindance!  You seem to have handled the situation just perfectly -- of course.  Very proud of both the notice in the salary and in the rating.  Great job!
