I have read with interest the recent post with regard to stockings/tights.  I normally wear quite long skirts but even if I don't, I was never (even in the winter!) wearing tights.  I just find them so uncomfortable.  However, taking on board some of the other comments, I took a good hard look at my legs in a knee length skirt both with and without the dreaded things!  I have to agree that they do look a lot better with them - even though for the first time that I can remember I returned from my recent holiday with a bit of a tan!

The other thing that I never do is wear make up - of any kind.  Now I know this may seem unprofessional too, though it has never been commented on by any of my superiors.  I am lucky enough to be blessed with good skin (surely deserved after those acne-ridden teenage years?!) and on the very odd occassion that I have worn make up it has irritated my skin which then becomes quite blotchy, even with the kind intended for sensitive skins.  I just wondered how many others go totally au-naturel?

All the best,
Nicola.

Make up?  What's that then?  I think I might dig my make-up bag out once or twice a year, and certainly never for work.  I really can't be faffed.  But there again, I refuse to have a hairstyle that requires hours of maintenance with a hot brush either.  I do make a point of dressing smartly though.

Wouldn't dare go out in public without face make-up...especially eyeliner and blush....I would just look like a dead person without these.

I've also recently begun with regular manicures, as my nails are growing to a decent lengh, due to thyroid replacement medication.

As for the hosiery, I feel like I have to wear pantyhose under my pant suits...but will wear cotton socks with cotton Dockers on casual days.  It's so chilly in our offices that the nylons really aren't a bother.

I work in academia. I don't wear make-up because it's part of the culture. I do sometimes for clients and big events. Or if I'm having a bad skin day - but it's got to be really bad for me to do that.

I go the hole hog. I wear foundation, blusher, eye-liner, eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick. The colours are all natural colours and look natural too....

I have my nails done every three weeks and have just started my fake tan routine - oh and I tint my eyebrows too. Sooooooooo, completely the opposite to you (I still haven't worked our the smilies on here - If I did, I would put a smily face in now) Smiley Shocked)

I wear the makeup every day to work, however, very little.  I do the foundation, blush, powder on my face, and then usually two different colors of eye shadow as blending and eyeliner.  I used to get the fake nails done every three weeks til I broke one during the winter, all I can say is OUCH!  NEVER again!  I'll let my natural nails grow and get a professional manicure before I do that again.

On the weekends, I'm all natural except for a bit of perfume which I wear every day.  So, guess I'm a makeup person, however, I'm not one to freshen it up every couple of hours at the office either.  I apply once daily and if its gone by 5:00, oh well!

Just my .02 cents.

PS..Galaxyblue to get the icons you want, use the pull down menu at the top of your posting screen to see what they all are.  To activate them on your post use the [ and ] before and after an icon to activate them.  So for a smile face its .  Type the [then the icon you want "smile" and then the end ] and it should work.  To do multiples, I do a copy and paste, much quicker.  If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll try to help ya out.  Good luck with them and enjoy!

Don't wear much make up to work.  A little concealer if I'm looking a little blotchy (though fortunately this doesn't happen very often) - I too have been blessed with good skin.

In the summer I use bronzing face pearls and a little tinted lip gloss.  That's it !!

Never go to work without makeup.  Think even a little makes all the difference.  If I was blessed with natual looking skin I would but prefer to have an even coverage even if I use tinted moisteriser in the summer.  Use Estee Lauder bronzing products, lip balm is fab - also use and pink blush rose petals for that lighter look.

I used to do the whole thing... foundation, blush, eye liner, eye shadow, mascara, etc, etc.  While I was pregnant, my face reacted differently to the makeup and I went to just the essentials, which has stuck.  Now my requisite for going out includes foundation, a touch of blush and powder to set it all.  If I'm going out dressy, or on a date with hubby, I'll go ahead and do eye shadow and maybe mascara or eyeliner and lipstick.  I wish I could go without the foundation, but my skin isn't that great and takes a lot of work just to look good under the foundation, which hides a lot of sins and evens out my complexion nicely.  I think those who can go au-natural are lucky individuals indeed.

I am so pale by nature and the florescent lights wash out any color I might have, so I wear make up to work everyday.  If I worked in a different environment, say production work or something like that, I probably wouldn’t bother.  That said, I give my face a break on Saturdays by skipping the make up routine and I use a moisturizer with sunscreen every day.

I wear powder and mascara.  Powder because my face is so oily it looks like I'm sweating and mascara because my eyes are so tiny that when I don't wear it, people ask me if I'm not feeling well.  Nothing more demoralizing than putting your all into a project and getting the rush from knowing you kicked butt only to have someone ask if you're sick that day because you don't look too good.

Make-up is a must for me.  I have pretty good complexion, but as I get older (36 this month), the wear and tear of my younger years has started to show.  I had a really severe burn (blistering) on my face when I was 13 and I have started to see discoloration in patches here and there.  So makeup is needed to even all that out.  Not to mention the extra SPF I get from it.  Mascara is a must because without it I look weak eyed.  The rest of it depends on my mood when I'm getting dressed.  By the end of the day the mascara is smudge, the foundation is pretty much gone and any blush I put on for color is gone too.  I don't do touch ups except to wipe under my eyes when I happen to be in the restroom (no special trips though).

Wearing makeup can go either way.  Some look just fine without it.  Others definately need the boost and would probably be surprised by how much more pulled together they would look.

The only thing I wear is lipstick - which I do refresh after lunch.  Even that, I prefers colors that are just shades away from my natural color.  Sometimes in the winter when I am naturally paler, I will wear a little blush.  Hair style is wash and wear as well.  I just can't stand a lot of primping - always feel that there are so many other things I could be doing during that time!
