As the Executive Assistant to a Bank CEO and Sr. Managers, I have been asked to develop performance measurements to aid in the tracking of goals at review time. The job description was easy enough but the performance measurements that I have found through research are fluffy. You know, "arrives at work on time" and "smiles during stressful times". Might as well add, "makes a great cup of coffee"!. Can anyone offer me solid and strong measurements? Thank you.

check out www.hrpowerhouse.com. In their library, they have forms, checklists, creating a plan, etc... on performance appraisals. (along with quite a few other categories.) -k

I would develop performance measures straight from the PD. I mean, if one of your roles detailed in your PD is getting coffee, then that would be a viable performance measure. (Let's hope not, though!) What are some of the duties detailed in the PD? Being courteous and professional with customers? Routing mail? Attending meetings? Completing reports? Develop your performance measures from these. ie: If you are responsible for completing a staffing report quarterly, then a performance measure might be that the report is completed on time and is accurately 100% of the time.
