Just got back from holiday (awesome time) to find out I have a new boss. I am absolutely gutted that this boss is going. I feel quite shocked, I knew something was changing before I left for leave but would never in my wildest dreams have guessed at his leaving.
I have met my new boss (internal promotion) a few times but have yet to speak to him about his change in role. He certainly has a lot to live up to, but I'm hoping he will offer me new challenges.
It's going to take a lot of adjusting too.

That's quite a surprise. Bosses leaving can be very unsettling - you don't always know who is coming in their place and then there are the questions about whether you will get on with the new one, will they cramp your style, need endless spoon-feeding etc etc. However, a new boss can also be an opportunity for new challenges and, maybe, promotion or advancement of some sort.
Good luck, Callie, and let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,

If it makes you feel any better, I got a new boss a while ago and I wouldn't swap him. He's good at what he does and when you talk to him he really listens. And he travel a lot which means he away from the office and he buys choccies when he's been away......
