My name is Gee I have a crap job If I’m not busy soon I will end up a slob! My eyes are sore Looking at my pc My head hurts too God no more tea! I try my best Just to keep my cool But it proves so hard And I feel such a fool! I start work at 8 And finish after 4 I just want some work Please give me more! My friends on DD They keep me sane But I know they are thinking Oh no, not her again! I know the problem It’s clear to see Everyone bluffs But no, not me! It could be worse I think to myself I could be one of those people Who end up on the shelf! And so tis my story I wish I could find A job that would give me Some peace of mind! All I need now is a publisher!

The rat race is tough As we all know Better hold on tight And go with the flow
With the bills to pay The food and the rent It flies through our fingers So quickly spent
The credit crunch Has taken its toll Let’s hear some good news Let’s rock n roll!
Roll on the summer Let’s get a tan And forget about work Take a break, man!
So many places So little time I’m doing my best To make this rhyme
So here’s to those folk There’s many like me Who want a new job A place to be free, Of the gossip and fuss The coughing and sneezing The tapping of pens It’s just disbelieving
Never before In my working day Have I ever encountered Such skivers at play
The world is our oyster What does that mean? Can someone tell me Or else I’ll scream
Is it Friday yet? Are we hanging on? For the hands on the clock To say, Be Gone!
And so as I sit And wait for my break I think to myself The best things in life come to those who wait

I'm on a roll today...
I’m so hot and bothered Last week I was cold Am I having a crisis? Am I getting old?
I can’t stand the gossips Those who act dumb No time for wasters Or the many who hum
Every day is the same I’m so bored you see Is everyone happier And busier than me?
The women are catty The men are a pain Am I the only one With half a brain?
The dust and the dirt Makes it hard to show off All the nice clothes With the money I’ve bought
The devil wears Prada If only I could Even breaking a nail Puts me in a mood
Please book me a flight To the isle of my dreams Where I can sip cocktails And watch the ocean gleam

Adobe or not to be That is the mess This new IT jargon Has me up the left
Is it bites or bytes Chips or RAM Is the helpdesk listening? Do they give a damn?
We zip and we print Our files and programs Then ask for assistance When something goes wrong
We edit and bind Format and spell Should I use Access Or maybe Excel?
Outlook has crashed What does it mean? Where are my documents? What is a theme?
My contacts are missing My tasks are no more But still there’s an error Did we need Norton before?
The office assistant In days of the past Was a person you worked with Not a dog or a cat
What is an icon? A shortcut? A path? Where is my dictionary? Who did the Math?
Who is this Gates? Bill to his friends He’s a lot to answer for Setting these trends
We have to survive With all these upgrades I’m becoming ill I need some shade, From all of the glare That hits us each day When we first log on At the start of the day
Alas and alack The day it draws nigh No more IT jargon Til the sun hits the sky

Women
It’s tough being a woman Attractive we are We put on our face And dye our hair
The men in our lives Expect so much Don’t get old Or gain an inch
The trends we follow The patterns we set Forget the cost Or how much we spent
With Botox and filler The nips and the tucks We keep them guessing What age we look
We plump and we polish We scrub and we tan All this to stay young? All this for a man?
Not a grey hair in sight Not a wrinkle or crease How dare we give into An extra piece Of that chocolate fudge cake Or Haagan Das ice We left in the fridge Just only last night
The diets the fads How bad they must be Depriving ourselves Of food we can’t eat
But so ‘tis the trends We read in the mags Did you ever see Munroe Look like a hag?
Vogue and Cosmo Elle and Red Is there something I’ve missed? One I haven’t read?
Judy, Liza Barbra, Bette These are names I shan’t forget
(inspired by the last verse, a one liner from Will & Grace!)
