Who has started to plan their company holiday parties?  If so, have you done so far?

I have got 5 Christmas card designs and 5 lunch menus ready for the Directors meeting tomorrow.  As we want lunch on the Friday before Christmas we'll have to get booked soon.  Last year we booked on 1st September and just got the last 20 places.

If I wasn't moving jobs I would be planning our Group meal next month ... not sure what will happen yet - I will stay in contact with the Group socially so the chances are I will still organise this event for them - on the strict understanding that I am joining in   Wink

One of our other Christmas parties was being organised already last month!

My previous company the venue was booked the the first week back at work in January to ensure we secured the right date ... fortunately we didn't have to choose our menu that early!

One of my colleagues does our Christmas party arrangements so I only have to turn up and look glamorous.

I have received brochures for Christmas cards so I will discuss those with my manager.  I think he is hoping to cut down drastically on Christmas cards this year.

At my current company I'm not part of the holiday planning (allow though last year I was drafted for set up).  However we just had the first admin meeting for our Jan. National Meeting.

I think the Grinch stole Christmas in our organization!   Angry  Not really, however, with all the budget cuts, I think our Christmas planning this year will be very slim.  I am not ordering Christmas cards, and our annual party has been slimmed down to a reception.  No gift cards for the employees either, but I think we are all thankful to have our jobs!

I'm planning ours - the pub we went to last year (there is only 15 of us) has just released their Christmas Menu so unless anyone has any objections, I'll be booking us there again.  The food was great and the location is lovely, you can see Hampton Court Palace from the windows.

The directors actually made a decision on our Christmas lunch yesterday, the earliest I've managed to get them to do it, and would you believe the restaurant they picked is already fully booked!

Our HR Dept sent an e-mail out last week with a list of charities we can support through them, Dept of Family andChildren Svcs, - support a needy family, etc.  No big party this year at a hotel as in years past.
