My industry tends to slow waaaayyy down in the summer, so I'm always looking for things to do.
I started keeping a list of projects that my bosses expresed interest on. Take a question they ask and expand on it. How can you give them information above and beyond what they asked for. At one time, I created tables based on what we sold that year, when they had only asked me what they sold last year on suchandsuch product.
About every two years, I update their phone lists / directions lists for them. Not very fun to do, but it does keep me busy.
I also wrote my own manual and my own Outlook tasks to help with training and as a reference for when I'm not here.
Any type of organization is good to do during the down time, as when we're busy, we're BUSY!
Summer is also a good time for us to purge out the completed contracts.

Question for you...
Is it not busy because of the time of year or will it continue like this?

Hope this helps..
