We havent done one in a long while, so to refresh your memory, here are the rules.

We've provided a starter. A bit of purple prose to kick the whole thing off. Your task...should you decide to accept it. Add a single paragraph to the story, When you write an addition try to leave the next writer an opening.

In the past our Round robin attempts have resulted in some funny situations, since our beloved Ms. Robbie introduced the concept almost two years ago.

Let's see how long we can make this one a viable story, and have some fun with it too. We've tried to provide a theme we think you all can embrace.....
get started below Smiley

Kristan looked up from the report she was trying to finish, just in time to see the pile of filefolders walking towards her.

It took her a couple of seconds to realize that file folders did not often have legs, and therefore, there must be a person under the rapidly approaching mountain of paper that was plunked unceremoniously to her desk with a loud thud.................

Kristian peeked a look at the clock and groaned.  It was 4:00 on Friday afternoon.

Her boss said, "Kristian, before you leave today, I need you to prepare a summary on the Summerall Project.  I brought you the files, so you could get started as soon as possible.  I need this summary on my desk before my 8:00 meeting on Monday morning...oh, I almost forgot to tell you...I dropped the files on my way up from the file room.  They may be a little out of order.

"Out of order?" thought Kristian to herself.  "It's you who's out of order, matey."  That summary had been requested two weeks ago.  She'd seen the e-mail from the Big Boss with her own eyes.  She'd reminded bossie that he had the paperwork, and without the paperwork, no summary.  But had he done a thing about it?  Silly question.  Kristian resettled herself in her chair but, before wading into the heap of muddled papers, she had to make a phonecall.

"Sharon sweety", Kristain said when the soft voice answered the phone, "momma's going to be late again tonight."  A couple of minutes later she hung up the phone, feeling like dirt for once more breaking the movie date with her daughter.  This was the third time in as many weeks that she had had to cancel on her daughter and the movie wouldn't be playing much longer.  She really should get a back-bone and start standing up to her boss.  These last-minute-on-Friday requests were getting to be too often.  Just then a loud noice brought her out of her reverie.

"Here are the rest of the files, the ones I dropped out in the hall.  I just shoved the papers in the closest folder," her boss said as he flopped the rest of the files on her desk.  "I've got to run, there's an 'off-site' get together at the club this afternoon.  There should be enough light to catch a quick nine holes."

"Oh perfect," Kristain thought, "I won't be able to get ahold of him if I have questions."

"That is just the LAST STRAW!" Kristin's inner self yelled. She jumped to her feet suddenly. The boss turned and looked at her in surprise.
"Something wrong?" the supercilious b***** asked.
Kristin smiled sweetly.
"As you won't be available this evening to answer queries, will you be coming in on Saturday to read through it and make corrections?" The boss goggled at her. Take that, you worm, she thought. "I could come in on Sunday if you like - I could use the overtime this week." She thought his eyes were about to pop. There was a big no-no on overtime since the last department budget.
"I've just remembered that I have a meeting all day Monday so I won't have time to review it until Tuesday." He ran a finger around his collar. Gotcha! she thought.

Bossie looked at her like a deer in the headlights for a few seconds, then quickly regained his composure.

"No, no, I'm sure that you'll handle everything just fine. If you can't reach me tonight, call Jeff. I'll have my cell phone on whilst on the golf course, but after that I'll be unavailable... And definitely no over-time for you on Sunday. You know better than to suggest that!" he ended with a snarl.

Kristan sighed with frustration. She hated hated HATED to have to deal with that slimeball Jeff. He always leers at her, and talks down to her even worse than Bossie!

Kristan sat down, dejected, to start on the files, and got lost in reverie and monotony...

Until the scent of after shave nearly jolted her from her seat.  Jeff appeared at the rear of the noxious fumes,  his eyes going first to her clevage, (they always did) before travelling insolently back up to her face.
"so Sweetie, what's on your agenda for tonight?  Why don't you take a break and let me show you my........"

new corner office.  It has a fully stocked bar for entertaining customers and the softest white leather couch for...well, you can test it yourself and see.

You know, he said while staring at her clevage again, I'm looking for a new executive administrative assistant.  If you're qualified (wink), you could have the job...(the implication in his words and his roaming eyes were not easily missed).

Speaking of agenda’s – what’s yours?  Tonight, I have a workload beyond belief – sorry, just can’t afford to take a break right now – just as well I’m very qualified in this field, so much so ‘the boss’ has really left me to deal with it.  Can we discuss that Executive Administrative Assistant job next week though?

"Whenever you want, baby" Jeff replied with another leer and wink, then he sauntered off.

Whew, that was close, Kristain thought.  She could just imagine what would have happened if he'd got her behind closed doors, and she already knew what management would say if she even thought of saying anything about his actions.  Disgusted, and still upset about spending the evening at work instead of at the movies, she opened the top folder and found...

A copy of her Bossie's CV.  And a recent copy too.  Perplexed, she laid it aside and tried to figure out why her boss would leave his CV in the Summerall files then, she recalled the dropped folders.  With a subtle lift of brow that served to mark her puzzlement, she placed the CV aside and began to work. Suddenly there was a loud......

... yelling somewhere down the hall.

"Who could be bellowing like that this late on a Friday?!"

Kristan quietly scampered across the floor to investigate.

As she drew closer to the source, she heard a man's voice say "You'd better get rid of this problem. I want this to go AWAY! And remember, "

"I know, I know," another man's voice chimed in, "you know nothing about this. I don't know you, have never met you. Blah blah blah. Would you relax already? Geez, you're too uptight! By this time tomorrow, I'll be out of the country, sipping margaritas in the sand. And you'll be... well, wherever you want to be."

"What on earth" Kristan wondered. Realizing she was overhearing something she probably shouldn't be, Kristan went back to her desk. "To hell with the other work. I can take these folders home and reorganize them. I don't want to be here alone anymore! My nerves are shot!!"

With that, she picked up the mess of files, threw them into a box, grabbed her purse, and walked quickly out of the office.

As she drew near to her car, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Screeching, Kristan turned around to see...

. . . . . the security guard demanding to know what was in the box she was removing from company premises.  Kristan replied that it was just some files she needed to work on overnight, but that didn't seem to satisfy the guard.

He said gruffly, "OK, Missy, I'll have to go through those files before I can allow you to leave.  Give me that box and we'll go to the security office to have a look."

Kristan groaned.  She figured that this "search" would take at least 45 minutes of her time, but she was wrong.

Four hours later she was still trying to explain to Security why she even had any of the Summerall files.

The head of Security had been called in by this time - a nasty old guy who had all the personality of Mike Tyson on a bad day.  He kept badgering Kristan, "Come on, do you think we're stupid?  With all the talk of insider trading did you really think you could get away with your little scheme?  We're already on to your boss and now it looks like we can nail you too."

Suddenly Kristan was able to put some of the peices together.  Finding bossie's CV was beginning to make sense to her, and she'd bet that jerk Jeff must also be involved in some way.

Since the security people wouldn't believe she was innocently sorting out files, she decided to . . . .

call Jeff, hoping he could convince the security guard to let her go.

"Hey, I knew you'd come around baby." answered Jeff who had caller ID on his office phone.

"That's not why I called, Jeff.  I need you to come tell the security guard that I need these files for business purposes.  He doesn't beleive me."  she pleaded.

"Sure, no problem sugar.  Be right there." Jeff replied.

After 10 minutes Jeff still had not shown up to help her.
